Coshocton County Beagle Club By-Laws
The purpose of the club shall be to: Encourage good sportsmanship
work with the state conservation department, help devolpe young hunters and encourage good relationships between beagle hunters and landowners.
Constitution and By-laws
Article I - Membership:
Section 1: Must be a citizen of the United States regardless of sex, race, or creed, at least 16 years of age or older that meet the requirements of the club shall be eligible for membership. No member shall advocate to overthrow the Government Of The United States Of America.
Section 2: Starting in 2016 members of the Coshocton County Beagle Club will be
required to meet the following criteria.
A. Attend a minimum of 3 meetings within the calender year.
B. Attend and participate (MOH, guide, Handle a hound, bench show
judge, Non-Hunting Judge or Hunt Director) in a minimum of 3
hunts.*You cannot just show up*
C. Be a paid member in good standing.
Failure to comply will result in that member being put on probation for the following
year.
All members as of December 31, 2014 will be grandfathered in but will be
required to meet the requirements listed to maintain membership. Only exceptions are Lifetime members.
Anyone wishing to become a member after Janurary 1, 2016 will be required to be
nominated by a member at a meeting. A vote to accept will be held at the
succeeding meeting. In order to be approved the appliicant must achieve 2/3 of the vote. Results of that vote will be sent to that applicant.
The Coshocton County Beagle Club will have the right to excuse any members
attendance deemed appropriate by the club. This must be done at a meeting and
recored by the Secretary.
Section 3: Probation- Is a member who has not met the requirements of membership.
A member on probation has 1 year to meet the requirements of a member.
Failure to do so will result in their membership being automatically revoked.
Members on probation will not be allowed to hold office or vote.
Section 4: Junior members shall be under 16 years of age, have showed the willingness to assist the club and have paid his/her dues: he/she will need to meet
the requirements of a regular member in order to become a regular member.
Section 5: Annual dues will be payable at the first meeting of the year. and accepted
until Jan 31 of that year. Dues will not exceed a 30 day grace period. Failure to do so will result in that member being on probation. Annual dues will be $10.00 per year. No member shall profit from the club.
Section 6: Lifetime member shall be a member who is 65 years of age and has been active within the club for a minimum of 5 years that has been nominated and approved by 2/3 of a vote at a regular meeting. Lifetime members shall receive free membership and 1 free entry of a dog in his or her name at each event.
Article II - Officers:
Section 1: The Officers of this club shall be: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant Of Arms and five Board of Directors.
Section 2: The Officers of this club shall be elected for a term of one year by ballot of the active members present at the Annual meeting to be held at the end of each year. No member on probation will be allowed to hold an office of this club.
Section 3: Vacancies must be filled by the presidents appointment at the first regular meeting following the withdrawal or resignation. If the position is the President, the Vice President shall assume the position for the remainder of the term.
Section 4: Terms of officers expire at the Annual meeting each year.
Article III - Duties of Officers:
Section 1: The President shall preside at all meetings of this club and conduct the same according to the rules adopted; he/she shall enforce due observance of the Constitution and by-laws; decide all questions of order; sign all official documents that are adopted by the club, and none other, and perform all the customary duties pertaining to the office of the President.
Section 2: The Vice President shall assume all duties of the President in the absence of the latter.
Section 3: The Recording Secretary shall keep a record of the proceeding of all meetings; keep a roll of members and submit application for membership.
At the expiration of the present Recording Secretary term all possessions belonging to the Coshocton County Beagle Club shall be given to the successor.
Section 3a: Recording Secretary: It shall be the duty of the Recording Secretary to keep the Constitution and by-laws of the Coshocton County Beagle Club. Said person shall cause all amendments changes and additions to be noted thereon.
Section 4: The Treasurer shall receive and receipt for all moneis paid to the club. Keep an accurate account of all moneys received and expended. A complete financial statement made at every club meeting.
At the expiration of the Treasurer’s term, all possessions belonging to the club shall be turned over to the successor.
Section 4a: The accounts of the Treasurer shall be audited every 12 months by a committee appointed by the President.
Section 5: Chairman of the Board; Will be elected by the individual receiving the most votes. In case of a tie a coin flip will determine the chairman.
Section 6: Officers must attend the majority of the meetings/hunts unless excused by the membership at a regular meeting. Failure to do so may result in the President replacing said officer.
Article IV - Meetings:
Section 1: The by-laws shall provide for regular and special meetings. A meeting, shall consist of five members and two officers, a total of 7 members.
Section 1a: Any change of by-laws will be done at a succeeding meeting after which it has been announced 3 times before the by-law changes, this allowing all members to be present. No more than 2 readings can be held at any meeting.
Section 1b: The annual meeting shall be the first meeting of the year. If the annual meeting cannot be held at that time, it shall be held within a reasonable time thereafter, and the officers shall hold over until their successors have been elected.
Article V - Dues:
Section 1: Non Payment of dues shall be cause for expulsion from the club.
Dues are payable up to January 31st. with a grace period ending March 1st. of each year.
Section 2: Dues shall be set by the by-laws.

Article VIII - General
Any deceased member will relinquish all rights and claims to this club.
Any member that is unable to attend the required hunt/meetings shall contact
an club officer of this to inform them that he/she is unable to attend. Only
reasonable requests will be considered for an excused absence.
Any member founr to be dishonest or in error will be notified by certified mail
to appear before the Board of Directors to state his/her case. Failure to appear before the Board of Directors will automatically remove that member, and
otherwise that member shall abide by the Board of Directors decision.
Anyone particapting in the club's hunt(member or otherwise) that intimidates
threatens, or injures any other person or creates a disturbance will be DIQUALIFED and will be required to leave the premises and will be subject to
any punishment deemed necessary by the club and its Board of Directors.
All UKC/AKC/ARHA/PKC rules and policies will be followed at all
UKC/AKC/ARHA/PKC events sponsored by this club.
The CCBC will always have available nice trophies to winners at all events; the
club may choose an altenate award as long as a trophy is available.
